Amniotic Fluid Leak

My sister-in-law is due in one month. She began leaking amniotic fluid today. She is being rushed in for an emergency c-section. I have been having a difficult time gleaning any information about this condition on-line. If you have any information regarding this, please let me know. We are all feeling a bit scared right now.

Thank you.

**UPDATE**
My sister-in-law is in labor - but it is slow going. They won't actually perform a c-section unless the labor goes on for too long. At the moment, she is hungry and unhappy. She told me she'd rather it were me than her-my instant reaction was that I was glad it was her and not me--which is sort of weird. Anyway. She's not too peppy or overly enthused about "the process." I didn't ask her when she was going to get in the tub for that water birth--I'm not sure she would have found it too amusing right now.

**UPDATE**
All amniotic fluid was drained and they were forced to induce. The baby was born at 1:00 AM this morning at 5 pounds, 6 ounces. He's on a breathing apparatus but mom and baby are both doing well. She will be leaving on Friday and baby will be released hopefully in a few days. The husband and I are ecstatic and can't wait to meet him.

Note: After some research I've learned that Tim Curry was born on April 19th. And The Simpsons debuted on April 19th in 1987 on the Tracey Ullman show. If you knew the husband and the family you would understand why I find these two facts so great and so funny. The husband's family all have great senses of humor and The Simpsons is a family favorite. And Tim Curry? How funny is that that my sweet nephew shares a birthday with Tim Curry? I mean, my husband shares a birthday with Marie Osmond. They are, I have to say, very much alike. It's uncanny, really.

Happy Birthday!
